Two college sweethearts...
The part I love most about the jewelry industry is the emotional ties it comes with. As a jeweler, you get to be a part of another person's beautiful memories. You get to guide them through the process, and help them create a stunning ring that will be cherished for decades to come.
Back in March, Mike reached out to me about creating a ring for his girlfriend, Alina. He said he had gone to many stores and looked online, but couldn't find anything that he loved. He had mentioned Alina would want something that was classic, delicate, and feminine. And let me tell you... Sometimes that is the most complicated ring to create.
The part I loved most about this particular engagement ring process was the chance to work with an entire family. Mike, his two sisters, and his parents were along for the whole ride. Oh, and Wrigley, their adorable Westie!
Being able to include the entire family was an unforgettable moment. The pride and joy on Mike's parent's faces was a look I'll never forget. Mike had looked at over 10 GIA certified diamonds before he found the perfect one for Alina. After many designs of the ring, Mike saw the ring for the first time.
Alina had Mike promise that he wouldn't propose until after she was done with her exams. They had planned a trip for their 5 year anniversary to Florida. The last thing Alina thought was that Mike would propose right before their getaway. Little did she know, that Mike had a wonderful and romantic scavenger hunt planned where they had first met.
The incredibly talented, Sasha Wasiek, from Wasio Photography was there to capture the entire proposal when it unfolded. Check out the full proposal story and additional pictures here from Chicago's very own, Wasio Photography!
