Best Walking Shoes

Happy Monday!!! I hope you all had a great weekend! This was probably the first weekend where we didn’t have 2-3 events or things to do every day. My husband almost didn’t know what to do with himself haha! I loved having the chance to spend family time together. We ended up stocking up on a couple more pairs of shoes for Henry yesterday too! A very common question I get is what are the best walking shoes for your little one. Henry has worn everything from the Carter’s sandals to his See Kai Run hightop sneakers. Now that he has become much more mobile, I have noticed that he is more comfortable wearing certain shoes. Today I will be sharing our top 3 favorite brands and the reasons why we love them!

Henry’s Vans. These are the shoes he’s been wearing since he grew out of his SEE KAI RUN high tops. My husband jokes that if they’re safe enough for him to skateboard in back in the day, they’re safe enough for Henry to walk in haha. I have noticed that when he does wear these he has a lot more balance than he did wearing other sneaks. I love the velcro straps on them too! They’re also light enough on his feet that he’s not “stomping” around when he’s wearing them. You can shop the exact style of these Vans here.

If you live an active lifestyle you might be pretty familiar with KEEN shoes. We purchased these at REI, but you can also find them at Nordstrom, ZAPPOS, and other online retailers. These are great walking shoes for warmer weather! Henry sweats like crazy. I love that these sandals are very breathable and they’re sturdy that he won’t stub his toes like he did with other sandals. Another great thing is that these shoes are waterproof! They were great shoes for him to wear around the pool or the park. The inside sole allows for a lot of support for his little feet. You can shop these and similar styles below.

Our third favorite shoe has been the SEE KAI RUN hightop sneaker. Henry has been wearing these since he was about 7 months old. They offer ankle support unlike other shoes. SEE KAI RUN is the one of the only brands of children’s shoes accepted by the American Podiatric Medical Association as a healthy shoe for children. I also love that it is a brand created by another mom. You can read all about their story here!
